Terms of Use
In one line: Katuka estimates the nutrition of your meals and builds training and meal plans. It is a guide, not a doctor. Katuka Pro is a subscription billed by Apple or Google Play, free for the first 7 days, and you can cancel it whenever you want.
1. Who you're agreeing with
Katuka is an app published by CruVal LLC ("we"). By creating an account or using the app you accept these terms. If you don't agree with them, don't use Katuka.
2. What Katuka is — and what it is not
Katuka estimates the calories, macronutrients and ingredients of your meals from a photo or a description, and builds training and meal plans from the data you enter.
Katuka is not a medical device, and it does not give medical advice. The estimates are produced by artificial intelligence and can be wrong. The plans are general guidance and are not a prescription. Do not use Katuka to diagnose, treat or manage any illness.
Talk to your doctor before starting or changing a diet or exercise routine, especially if you have a health condition, take medication, are pregnant or are breastfeeding. If you have an eating disorder or a history of one, consult a professional before using an app that counts calories.
Choosing your pace
Katuka lets you choose how fast you want to lose weight — gentle, steady or fast — and that choice lowers your daily calorie target. It is your decision, and it is not a medical recommendation. A faster pace is not better: it is harder to sustain and it makes it more likely you fall short on protein and on nutrients.
Whatever you pick, Katuka will never set your target below 1,200 kcal a day. That floor is a safety limit, not a target to aim for, and it does not make any particular figure appropriate for you: your age, your weight, your conditions and your medication all change what is safe. If you want to eat less than what Katuka gives you, that is a conversation for your doctor, not for an app.
3. Your account
You need to be at least 13 years old to use Katuka. You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done from your account. Give us real data: the plan is built from what you enter, so wrong data means a wrong plan.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → Delete my account. It is immediate and permanent. We can suspend an account that abuses the service, attacks the infrastructure or breaks these terms.
4. Katuka Pro (subscription)
- What it unlocks: unlimited AI meal analysis, plan generation and regeneration, Apple Health / Health Connect workouts, and weekly readings.
- Price: $9.99 per month or $59.99 per year (US prices; Apple and Google localize them for your country).
- Free trial: 7 days. If you cancel before it ends, you pay nothing.
- Billing: charged to your Apple ID on iPhone, or to your Google Play account on Android, when you confirm the purchase.
- Renewal: it renews automatically until you cancel. On iPhone, turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends; on Android, cancel before your next billing date.
- Cancelling: on iPhone, from Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, from the Play Store → your profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions (Google's guide). Cancelling stops the next charge; the time you already paid for stays active until it runs out.
- Refunds: Apple and Google handle them, not us. On iPhone, request them at reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, through Google Play, under its refund policies.
Prices can change. If they do, we'll tell you before it affects you, and the change never applies to a period you already paid for.
5. Your content
Your photos, descriptions and logs are yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: storing them, showing them back to you, and sending them for AI analysis once you have consented. We don't use your content to advertise, we don't sell it, and we don't publish it.
6. What you may not do
- Use Katuka for anything illegal, or to give health advice to other people.
- Upload content that isn't yours or that is illegal.
- Try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or get to other users' data.
- Automate access to the app or resell it.
7. Availability
We try to keep Katuka running, but we don't promise it will be available without interruption or free of errors. It depends on third-party services (Apple, Google, Supabase, Anthropic, RevenueCat) that can fail or change. We may modify or discontinue features; if we discontinue something substantial, we'll tell you with reasonable notice.
8. Liability
Katuka is provided "as is". To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, or for decisions about your health, diet or exercise that you make based on the app's estimates. Our total liability is limited to what you paid in the last 12 months.
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have by law as a consumer in your country, which apply regardless of what this page says.
9. Changes
We can update these terms. If a change is substantial we'll tell you inside the app or by email. Continuing to use Katuka after that means you accept the new version.
10. Apple and Google
Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Katuka. If Katuka doesn't work as described, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund your purchase price. Where these terms conflict with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, that agreement governs to the extent of the conflict.
Google is not a party to these terms either. Purchases made through Google Play are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
