The short version: Katuka stores what you log so it can analyze it. It sends your meals and health data to Anthropic for AI analysis, and it does not do that until you explicitly allow it. We don't sell anything, we don't run ads, and we don't track you across apps. You can delete your entire account from inside the app.
Who is responsible for your data
Katuka is an app developed by Geoser Cruz Valdivia. If you have any question about this policy or want to exercise your rights, write to support@katuka.app.
What we collect
What you give us

What you can connect (always optional)
Apple Health / Health Connect. If you connect it, Katuka reads the workouts and active calories that other apps write there — Peloton, Strava, Garmin, Apple Watch and the rest — to adjust your daily target. Katuka never writes anything into Health. You can disconnect it whenever you want from Profile, and from your phone's settings.
What we do NOT collect
- Your location.
- Your contacts.
- Advertising identifiers, or tracking across apps and websites.
- Anything on your phone you didn't deliberately log.
Who it's shared with — and this is the important part
Anthropic (AI analysis). To analyze a meal or build your plan, Katuka sends Anthropic the photo or description of the meal, your age, height, weight and goal weight, your health conditions and dietary restrictions, and — if you connected it — your workouts and calories from Health.
Your name, your email and your password are not sent. Anthropic processes that data to return the analysis, does not use it to train its models, and deletes it after processing, under the commercial terms of its API.
None of this happens without your explicit permission. The first time you open the app we show you exactly what gets sent and to whom, and you have to actively accept it. If you don't, the server rejects every analysis request: the block isn't in the screen, it's in our backend. You can withdraw permission whenever you want from Profile → Withdraw AI consent, and from that moment not one more piece of data leaves.
Supabase (storage). Your data is stored in a database managed by Supabase, hosted on servers in the United States (us-east-1 region). Each user can only reach their own data; that is enforced at the database level, not just in the app.
Apple and RevenueCat (subscriptions). Katuka Pro is billed by Apple through your Apple ID. RevenueCat validates the purchase and tells Katuka whether your subscription is active. We never see your card details — Apple never gives them to us.
Nobody else. We don't sell your data, and we don't hand it to advertisers, insurers or data brokers.
How long we keep it
As long as your account is open. When you delete it, your photos are removed from storage, along with every row of your data and your authentication user. We keep no copies.
Your rights
- See and export — Profile → Export my data downloads everything in one file.
- Correct — you can edit your profile and correct any meal that was analyzed wrong.
- Delete — Profile → Delete my account. Immediate, permanent, and it doesn't require writing to us.
- Withdraw AI consent — Profile → Withdraw consent, without losing your account.
- Complain — if you live in the EU or the UK, you can lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
Children
Katuka is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we find an account belonging to a child under 13, we will delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe this has happened, write to us.
Security
Everything travels encrypted over HTTPS. Photos are kept in a private bucket that only you can reach, through signed, temporary links. Passwords are stored hashed and nobody — us included — can read them. Access to data is restricted per user at the database level.
Even so, no system is infallible. If a breach affecting your data occurred, we would tell you.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything substantial — above all if it affects what is shared with the AI — we will ask you again inside the app. Your previous consent stops being valid automatically and nothing is sent until you accept the new version.
Important health notice
Katuka is not a medical device and is not a substitute for a health professional. Meal analyses are AI-generated estimates and can be wrong. Plans are guidance. Talk to your doctor before starting any diet or exercise regimen, especially if you have a health condition, take medication or are pregnant.

Lo esencial, sin rodeos: Katuka guarda lo que registras para poder analizarlo. Manda tus comidas y tus datos de salud a Anthropic para que una IA los analice, y no lo hace hasta que tú lo autorizas expresamente. No vendemos nada, no hacemos publicidad y no te rastreamos entre apps. Puedes borrar tu cuenta entera desde la propia app.

Los que puedes conectar (siempre opcional)
Apple Health / Health Connect. Si lo conectas, Katuka lee tus entrenos y las calorías activas que otras apps escriben ahí —Peloton, Strava, Garmin, Apple Watch y demás— para ajustar tu objetivo diario. Katuka nunca escribe nada en Health. Puedes desconectarlo cuando quieras desde Perfil, y desde los ajustes de tu teléfono.
Lo que NO recogemos
- Tu ubicación.
- Tu agenda de contactos.
- Identificadores de publicidad ni rastreo entre apps o sitios web.
- Nada de tu teléfono que no hayas registrado tú a propósito.
Con quién se comparten, y esto es lo importante
Anthropic (análisis con IA). Para analizar una comida o construir tu plan, Katuka envía a Anthropic la foto o descripción de la comida, tu edad, estatura, peso y peso meta, tus padecimientos y restricciones alimenticias, y —si lo conectaste— tus entrenos y calorías de Health.
No se envía tu nombre, tu correo ni tu contraseña. Anthropic procesa esos datos para devolver el análisis, no los usa para entrenar sus modelos y los elimina tras procesarlos, conforme a los términos comerciales de su API.
Nada de esto ocurre sin tu permiso explícito. La primera vez que abres la app te mostramos exactamente qué se envía y a quién, y tienes que aceptarlo de forma activa. Si no aceptas, el servidor rechaza toda petición de análisis: el bloqueo no está en la pantalla, está en nuestro backend. Puedes retirar el permiso cuando quieras desde Perfil → Retirar el consentimiento de IA, y a partir de ese momento no sale ni un dato más.
Supabase (almacenamiento). Tus datos se guardan en una base de datos gestionada por Supabase, alojada en servidores de Estados Unidos (región us-east-1). Cada usuario solo puede acceder a sus propios datos; está aplicado a nivel de base de datos, no solo en la app.
Apple y RevenueCat (suscripciones). Katuka Pro lo cobra Apple a través de tu Apple ID. RevenueCat valida la compra y le dice a Katuka si tu suscripción está vigente. Nunca vemos los datos de tu tarjeta — Apple no nos los da.
Nadie más. No vendemos tus datos, no los cedemos a anunciantes, ni a aseguradoras, ni a intermediarios de datos.
Cuánto tiempo los guardamos
Mientras tengas la cuenta abierta. Cuando la borras, se eliminan tus fotos del almacenamiento, todas tus filas de la base de datos y tu usuario de autenticación. No conservamos copias.
Tus derechos
- Ver y exportar — Perfil → Exportar mis datos te descarga todo en un archivo.
- Corregir — puedes editar tu perfil y corregir cualquier comida mal analizada.
- Borrar — Perfil → Eliminar mi cuenta. Es inmediato, definitivo y no requiere que nos escribas.
- Retirar el consentimiento de IA — Perfil → Retirar el consentimiento, sin perder la cuenta.
- Reclamar — si resides en la UE o el Reino Unido, puedes presentar una reclamación ante tu autoridad de protección de datos.
Menores
Katuka no está dirigida a menores de 13 años y no recogemos datos de ellos a sabiendas. Si detectamos una cuenta de un menor de 13, la eliminaremos. Si eres madre, padre o tutor y crees que ha ocurrido, escríbenos.
Seguridad
Todo viaja cifrado por HTTPS. Las fotos se guardan en un bucket privado al que solo tú tienes acceso mediante enlaces firmados y temporales. Las contraseñas se guardan con hash y nadie —tampoco nosotros— puede leerlas. El acceso a los datos está restringido por usuario a nivel de base de datos.
Aun así, ningún sistema es infalible. Si se produjera una brecha que afecte a tus datos, te lo comunicaremos.
Cambios en esta política
Si cambiamos algo sustancial —sobre todo si afecta a qué se comparte con la IA— te lo pediremos de nuevo dentro de la app. Tu consentimiento anterior deja de valer automáticamente y no se envía nada hasta que aceptes la versión nueva.
Aviso importante sobre salud
Katuka no es un dispositivo médico ni sustituye a un profesional de la salud. Los análisis de comidas son estimaciones generadas por IA y pueden equivocarse. Los planes son orientativos. Consulta a tu médico antes de empezar cualquier régimen alimenticio o de ejercicio, especialmente si tienes alguna condición de salud, tomas medicación o estás embarazada.
